kamakura + seoul
anyounghaseyo and kamsamnida
two weeks across japan and korea: tokyo, yokohama, a day trip to kamakura, then six nights in seoul. here's how it went, day by day.
10.14 — kamakura
from tokyo, i took the train down to yokohama. went down to kamakura to see the great buddha, and saw the famous train slam dunk crossing too. then went shopping around and saw the shop from terrace house: boys & girls in the city.
bought some shirasu (whitebait) fish cake, which kamakura is famous for. ended the day watching the sunset.

10.18 — gimpo to myeongdong
flew from haneda into gimpo. picked up a t-money card at the airport, then took line 5 all the way to my hotel near insadong. i stayed at simple stay jongro. it looked a little weird from the outside, tucked away in an alley, but inside it's pretty nice. walked around the myeongdong night market and had hotteok for the first time. dinner was kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) at myeongdong kyoja. their kimchi was really spicy and garlicky. crashed at like 8pm.
10.19 — bukchon, samgyetang, and a lot of rain
i woke up around 7:30am and headed for the bukchon hanok village. apparently its under restricted tourist curfew, so i had to wait until 10am to get in. took a few pictures and went along my way.
then i took a lunch at a michelin-recognized samgyetang (chicken ginseng soup) spot (baeknyeon tojong samgyetang).
right next to it, stopped by futura seoul for the es devlin exhibit, then osulloc tea house for cheesecake and tea.
ended the day at off beauty, picking up some stuff while it poured rain. got rained out, so i headed back to the hotel.

10.20 — namdaemun, ddp, and coex
went to namdaemun market in the morning. got some odeng (fish cake skewers) and kalguksu. afterwards went to ddp (dongdaemun design plaza) to take some architecture pictures. it's been on my list since it's a zaha hadid. later headed to coex for the starfield library.
10.21 — leeum by accident, and an aquapeel
took the wrong bus and ended up at the leeum museum by accident. got a facial appointment at abijou clinic for an aquapeel, then went shopping.
10.22 — cafe onion, gyeongbokgung, and do ho suh
finally went to cafe onion, and it's really nice. very aesthetic. the salt bread was good. afterwards went to gyeongbokgung palace and took some pictures at the royal dining hall. then went to the do ho suh exhibit.
10.23 — going back home
flight got delayed for 5 hours... at least the korean air lounge was nice. finally got to try out business class.
